DESCRIPTION

Sound recording is the second step in the process. Sound recording is an electrical, mechanical, electronic, or digital inscription of sound waves, such as spoken voice, singing, instrumental music, or sound effects. The two main classes of sound recording technology are analog recording and digital recording.

In the process, a source's volume level, frequency content, dynamics, and panoramic position are manipulated and or enhanced. Also, effects such as reverberation and echo may be added.

There are several considerations in this process: unifying the sound of a record, maintaining consistency across an album, and preparing for distribution.
